
Who are athletic trainers?
Athletic training is practiced by athletic trainers, health care who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients. Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities.
The minimum qualifications to become a certified athletic trainer include graduation with a bachelors or masters degree from an accredited athletic training education program and passing a comprehensive certification examination administered by the Board of Certification. Once certified, ATs are required to complete ongoing continuing education in order to remain certified.
Athletic Trainers in Utah are licensed by the Utah Division of Occupation Athletic Trainers in Utah are licensed by the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing.
